Mission

To provide the poorest Serbian families, particularly those with multiple children, with the basic necessities of life in order to become self-sufficient and contributing members of society. 

Serbs for Serbs believes, above all else, that children are our future.

Our Story

The Charity Organization Serbs for Serbs was established in 2005. Serbs for Serbs Canada was registered as a Not-For-Profit Corporation in 2015 and received charitable status designation in 2016 (CRA Charity Registration: 797117496 RR 0001).

Serbs for Serbs is also registered in Serbia, Republic of Srpska, Montenegro, U.S., Switzerland, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Austria and Australia. Collectively we fundraise to aid impoverished Serbian families, particularly those with multiple children.

Serbs for Serbs Canada holds five major annual campaigns: In Time for Božić which directs projects to families sponsored at Christmas time; Palačinka Party, held each spring; Folklor iz Bloka social & dancing events; and the sports tournaments Trojka iz Bloka and Odbojka iz Bloka. Approximately $1,300,000 has been raised in Canada since the organization's inception.

How Does Serbs for Serbs Work?

When we hear about a family, we add them into our database and visit as soon as possible. We raise funds to make the necessary purchases to provide the needed help. Lastly, we publish a detailed report, including photos and scanned receipts for every dollar spent.

Help is provided primarily in the form of farming equipment, livestock, greenhouses, building materials, furniture, etc. The organization does not provide aid in the form of money, food, medicine, payment of bills, repayment of debts, etc.
